Behind the Art
In this drawing, I wanted to capture that sense of stillness between the Blessed Mother and the Child Jesus, both of them turning their gaze upward, like they are united in something beyond the moment itself. Even though it’s a very human, tender scene, there’s also this awareness that their hearts are directed toward the Father.
My intention was to show that even in these quiet, everyday kinds of moments, there’s still something deeply divine happening. Mary and Jesus aren’t just looking at each other or the world, they’re looking toward heaven together.
I hope this image invites you to pause for a moment and gently lift your own gaze upward too, even in the middle of ordinary life.
